why I blog...

Photobucket

FedEx recently dropped off our blog book and I couldn't be happier with it. I ordered it from 'Blurb' and I think they did a really nice job. I'm so glad I finally put it together and ordered it before the baby came. I don't think it would've ever gotten done if I'd waited till after she was born. It did take some playing around with their layouts and many hours of dragging and dropping my pictures and blog text into blurb's templates to get something I liked. But it was worth it. I ordered the book with the hardback image wrap cover and premium paper. It ended up costing $68 with shipping. Not bad at all. If I were to have scapbooked the whole last year, I probably would have spent 5 times that, not to mention the hours it would have taken me per layout. Here is a sample of our book. Cute huh!

I'm all caught up this year's book too. You can put your book together as you add posts to your blog throughout the year and Blurb will save it for you. So at the end of the year, all I have to do is order your book. It'll be so nice to not have to put the whole book together all at the same time next year!

one last picture before she's born

I had an appointment and growth scan yesterday. Everything is looking good and she weighs in around 6 lbs. I got to see her one last time and she was so cute. She was stretching and making funny faces. It made me so excited to see her in person. Lily came with me and was amazed that she could actually see the baby's face. She said, "She looks just like me mom!"

That's her hand up by her face. It looks weird because she was moving it when the picture was being taken. I was assured all is well and she has a normal looking hand.

princess Lily

Lily has been really into everything princess lately. She spotted a picture of Ross and I on our wedding day a few weeks ago and said, "Mommy's a pincess!" She was quite impressed. She loves wearing her princess shoes and twirly skirts. I must say, she does look like our own little princess in her white pettiskirt!

34 weeks

Little baby on the way, growing bigger everyday, kicking mommy here and there,God please listen to our prayer. Keep our baby safe and strong, let her time with us be long, help us teach her right from wrong, and we shall praise thee all day long. This little one, though not yet here, is loved so much, has grown quite dear. Delivery time is growing near, that's why we pray our plea you'll hear. Please help us Lord, we pray to Thee with thankful heart, on bended knee, to raise this child that she might be, a happy child because of me. -Author unknown

All I wanted for Mother's day was one decent picture of me with all 3 kids. With Lily, that was just too much to ask. So, this one will have to do.

After Ross finished taking these pictures, I went into our room to change my clothes and Mason came in with me. He asked me if pregnancy makes your body gain fat too. I told him that it does make you gain some extra fat but it usually comes off after the baby is born. He then said to me, "No offense...but I can see what the baby has done to you." None taken Mason. I HAVE already gained 30 lbs. so far and I too can see what the baby has done to me.

Favorite books...

Mason has always enjoyed reading, when he can find a book he really likes. The problem is that it's hard to find one that holds his interest. So I was overjoyed when he recently discovered the 'GUARDIANS of GA'HOOLE' series and has just loved them. It's never a chore for me to get him to read anymore. I LOVE that. There are 15 books in the series too, and he's on the 6th one. So, it should take him a while to get through all of them. A movie is supposed to be coming out in 2010. He can't wait!

Lily pretty much loves any book you'll read to her. Her very favorites are 'Brown bear' and 'Polar bear'. She also loves '10 little ladybugs', 'Eek it's squeak', (that one has a pig in it that reminds her of Wilber or "Wilbert" as she calls him, from Charlotte's web) and any book that has little flaps with hiding animals behind them.

Notice Bo isn't included here? He takes after his Pop when it comes to books. He's more of an "outdoor" kid at the moment. I'm hoping a love for reading will eventually develop. Really hoping.

Such a beautiful little girl

I glanced over at Lily today while she was standing up at the bar drinking her b-cup and eating pretzels and found myself just starring at her. Sometimes it hits me how beautiful she really is and I feel so blessed that she's mine. She is such a warm and caring little girl too. She's always concerned about how other people are feeling. A few weeks ago, Tara's dog Toby had to be put to sleep because he was getting to the point where he was having a hard time walking and wouldn't eat anymore. Anyways, Lily and I were over at mom and dad's house the day before the vet was scheduled to come over. I remember walking past Toby and petting him one last time while he looked in my eyes and I just lost it. I cried the whole way home. Lily was so concerned about me. She kept asking me, "What happen mom?" When I told her Toby was dying, she said, "It'll be otay mom, Toby be otay." When we got home and I got her out of her car seat, she gave me a tight hug and told me it was going to be "otay" while she rubbed her little hands on my back. I love her. She can make a crappy day turn around really quickly.

The baby will be here in 5 weeks and while I'm so excited to meet her, I'll kind of miss all the time that Lily and I have together during the day while the boys are at school. It kind of makes me sad for Lily. Her world is about to change so much and she doesn't even know it.
